  • NSU and United Way of NESD celebrate 21st Annual Day of Champions

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – On April 15, Northern State University student-athletes will team up with the United Way of Northeastern South Dakota in service to the Aberdeen community and region.

    Saturday is the 21st annual Day of Champions, and the Wolves will spend the day volunteering at various community organizations, performing tasks from cleaning to painting to yard cleanup.

  • NSU student named a finalist in S.D. Governor’s Giant Vision Competition

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University student Grace Kramer has been named a finalist to this year’s South Dakota Governor’s Giant Vision Competition.

  • NSU Jazz Swing Party set for April 28

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The annual Northern State University Jazz Swing Party will be held 7-11:30 p.m. Friday, April 28.

    The public is invited to the event, which will feature live swing music at Engel’s Event Center, 209 S. Main St., Aberdeen.

    Performing will be Northern’s Two O’clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart, One O’clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Terry Beckler, and the Citrisity Band.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Micro-credentials are having a major impact—and they’re coming to Northern State University this spring.

    What are micro-credentials? They're a learn-at-your-own-pace, non-credit bearing form of certification in a skill-based learning model. Completing a course earns you a digital badge—which is instantly shareable and embedded with metadata, helping you get noticed.

  • NSU to host Tech and Entrepreneurship Summer Camp

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host a free Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp for area teens this summer—and Northern is hiring peer mentors to work with youth at the camp.

    The Tech and Entrepreneurship Camp, open to students entering grades 9-12 in fall 2023, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays. The camp will run for five weeks, starting May 30 and running through June 27, on the NSU campus.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Speech and Debate Team made it to the national quarterfinals, with two students tying for fifth place in the nation.

    Ethan Kurtz and Jacob Swanson finished as national quarterfinalists at the Pi Kappa Delta National Speech and Debate Tournament, tying for fifth place nationwide.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will host the 68th Annual Mathematics Contest on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Barnett Center on the NSU campus.

    High school students from around the area are invited to participate in one of four divisions: Elementary Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Senior Math.

    ABERDEEN, S.D. – A husband and wife musical duo will perform an upcoming concert at Northern State University.

    Kenneth Boulton and JoAnne Barry will present a recital of music for piano four-hands at
